Power Distribution Equipment for Data Centers
Row Power Distribution Cabinet

Product Overview丨
Row Power Distribution Cabinet for Data Centers
The Row Power Distribution Cabinet, also known as the End-of-Row Power Distribution Cabinet, is a power distribution unit positioned at the front or end of a row of server racks in a data center. It is primarily used to supply either AC or DC power to the entire row of IT equipment. These cabinets typically feature functions such as power distribution, monitoring, metering, protection, and alarms, and are commonly designed as precision power distribution cabinets in modern data center environments.
Functions and Features:
Centralized Power Management:
The cabinet manages and distributes power from utility grids or uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems. It is generally installed at the head of a server rack row. In mission-critical data centers requiring fault tolerance, dual row cabinets are deployed at both ends of the rack row for redundancy.
Dual Power Inputs for Reliability:
Row PDUs are typically equipped with dual power inputs. In the event of failure in one power source, the other input automatically takes over to ensure uninterrupted power delivery.
Circuit Protection:
Molded Case Circuit Breakers (MCCBs) are installed before the dual power input lines to provide short-circuit and overload protection, as well as isolation for maintenance.
Fire and Surge Protection:
The cabinet is usually equipped with an electrical fire monitoring system, including fire detectors and monitoring units. Given the sensitivity of data center equipment to lightning strikes and voltage transients, surge protection devices (SPDs) are also recommended.
Application:
This type of cabinet is widely used in modern data centers across sectors such as telecommunications, finance, government, internet service providers (ISPs), and cloud computing. It ensures stable, secure, and intelligent power distribution to critical IT loads.
Rated Voltage: 400V
Rated Current: 63A ~ 630A
Rated Frequency: 50Hz
Short-Time Withstand Current: 30kA ~ 65kA
Protection Degree: IP30 ~ IP54
