Product Overview
The KYN28-12 metal-clad withdrawable AC metal-enclosed switchgear is a widely used 10kV medium-voltage distribution device in China’s power systems. Designed in compliance with national standard GB/T 3906-2020, it features a compact structure, high safety and reliability, and easy maintenance.

Applications:
KYN28-12 switchgear is primarily applied in 10kV AC three-phase power systems for the distribution, control, and protection of electrical energy. It is commonly used for incoming and outgoing feeder circuits in large factories, office buildings, and commercial complexes, distributing electricity to various low-voltage distribution systems.

It is also ideal for critical power nodes in locations that require high supply reliability, such as hospitals, airports, subways, and data centers, ensuring uninterrupted power delivery.

Structural Design – “Metal-Clad Withdrawable”
The switchgear adopts a metal-clad, withdrawable structure, where the enclosure is fully metal-enclosed, and internal components such as circuit breakers are removable for inspection and maintenance.

Functions:
1. Power Distribution and Control:
Equipped with vacuum or SF₆ circuit breakers, the switchgear enables manual or remote switching of 10kV lines, allowing power supply control for downstream loads such as transformers and motors.

2. Fault Protection:

Short-Circuit Protection: In the event of a short circuit, the breaker quickly trips under the command of a relay protection device (e.g., microprocessor-based protection), typically within ≤0.05 seconds, cutting off the fault current to prevent equipment damage or incident escalation.

Overload Protection: Current transformers monitor the load; if the current exceeds the rated value over time, the protection device trips with a time delay to prevent overheating damage to cables or transformers.

Ground Fault Protection: Equipped with grounding switches and zero-sequence current protection. In case of single-phase ground faults, it isolates the faulty circuit to prevent electric shock or insulation breakdown.

3. Safety Isolation and Insulation:

Metal-Clad Isolation: The cabinet is internally divided into independent compartments (busbar, circuit breaker, cable, and instrument chambers) using metal barriers. This ensures arc containment and prevents high-voltage propagation in case of a fault, ensuring personnel safety.

Insulation Assurance: High-voltage components such as busbars and contact boxes use epoxy resin insulation, in combination with air or low-GWP gases like C4F7N, ensuring phase-to-phase and phase-to-ground insulation meets 10kV requirements (power frequency withstand voltage ≥42kV)."
